Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Compliance Analyst to join our global team in Costa Rica. In this role, you will lead Avionyx’s contracting and compliance activities, including ensuring adherence to U.S., Costa Rican, and international regulations.

 

You’ll play a key role in navigating complex global regulations, maintaining process integrity, and supporting business growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners—including engineers, operations, finance, procurement, sales, logistics, manufacturing, IT/security, and legal—to design and implement effective compliance programs and tools that support current and future business opportunities. The ideal candidate also will have practical knowledge and experience in contracting, compliance frameworks, and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, enable, and apply export-import controls to meet company deliverables.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, to ensure project alignment and integration.
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategic compliance policies and procedures aligned with contract requirements, including FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations.
  • Review product, software, and technology classification, including under applicable Harmonized schedule (HS), export control classification (ECN) and US munitions list (USML).
  • Ensure contractual requirements, including flow-downs, are properly identified, understood, and executed across departments and vendors.
  • Support restricted party screening of customers, suppliers, and partners; test and enhance tools to improve automation and efficiency.
  • Prepare export licenses, authorizations, and government filings.
  • Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and investigations to ensure regulatory compliance, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Deliver targeted training and awareness programs to embed compliance culture across the organization aligned with organizational growth and business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to implement streamlined audit programs, enhance access controls, and determine compliance thresholds.
  • Proactively identify compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies.

 

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, project management, trade, or government contracting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (C1)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with contract flow-downs, subcontract management, and internal controls.

Desired

  • Familiarity with import and export regulations, government regulations (e.g., FARs, DFARS), and global trade compliance requirements.
  • Experience in aviation/aerospace/tech.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and government/compliance systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, SAM.gov, eSRS, PIEE).
  • Working expert knowledge of contracting concepts, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and applicable international contract law.
