Systems Verification Engineer, Integrated Flight and Propulsion Control System (IFPCS)

Avionyx is a fully owned subsidiary of Joby Aviation. Joby Aviation is leading the industry by introducing a revolutionary urban air mobility aircraft featuring the innovative all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) JAS4-1 air vehicle. The Integrated Flight and Propulsion Control System (IFPCS) product team is seeking highly motivated systems engineers to help deliver the JAS4-1 vehicle to the marketplace. The Integrated Flight and Propulsion Control System includes all the primary flight control functions (pilot inceptors, flight sensors, processing and communications, control laws, and aerodynamic and propulsion control effectors) and some vehicle management functions. This position offers the opportunity to verify the subsystems listed here.

• Automated and manual Verification test script authoring and execution
  -Data reduction and analysis
  -Problem reporting, resolution, and tracking issue to closure
  -Writing Test Reports
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Software, System Test, test equipment, Flight Test.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics required; Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering preferred
• Relevant demonstrated scholastic project experience or internships
• Understanding and application of disciplined systems engineering processes
• Experience working in a laboratory environment
• Exposure to modeling and simulation using MATLAB/Simulink
• Excellent verbal and technical writing skills in English language
• Ability to work collaboratively, with self-starter skills that enables self-sufficiency
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
• Strong command of Python

• Electric vehicle technology experience
• Flight Simulator development
• Experience integrating and testing complex, highly integrated systems, including failure modes and effects testing (FMET)
• Familiarity with requirements management
• Familiarity with safety assessment concepts
• Experience using Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, and Crucible
• Familiar with Dassault Systems Engineering and Management tools (Enovia)
