Accounting Supervisor

Joby is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead and manage our shared services accounting team. This role is integral to ensuring efficient financial operations, optimizing processes, and supporting cross-functional teams. In this role, you will be responsible for operations of Joby’s Accounting Shared Services Center, including but not limited to General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Data Managements and Reporting.

 

To be successful in this role, you would need hands-on experience in building and leading first-class accounting services organization. The ideal candidate will have good understanding of Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Quote to Cash processes, strong managements skills, and be an effective communicator who balances getting the details right while moving quickly in a results-driven environment.

• Manage the shared services Accounting/AP team, including conducting annual performance reviews, promotions, and workload distribution.
• Supervise the AP Lead to oversee task assignments, resolve invoicing issues, and train new hires.
• Document, review, and improve accounts payable and accounting workflows.
• Collaborate with the Joby US team on monthly close reconciliations and journal entries.
• Supervise the Joby Costa Rica team, providing invoicing and accounts payable support, maintaining financial email communication, and reviewing expense reports.
• Oversee corporate credit card spending and ensure timely T&E expense report reviews.
• Manage the team’s workload as well as drive implementing improvements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent)
• A minimum of 4 years of management experience in general accounting
• Proficient with Excel
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Substantial working accounting knowledge including experience in general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, and cash accounting.
• Proven experience managing teams and implementing workflow improvements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting to an Executive Level audience in both English and Spanish
• English: B2+ level in the Common European Framework is highly recommended
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and develop team members.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with experience in process and quality analysis

• Accounting degree and +6 years of experience in general accounting
• Experience with ERP systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Familiarity with credit card expense platforms, such as Navan.
• English: C1 level in the Common European Framework is highly recommended
