Manufacturing Engineer

Joby Aviation is searching for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with experience in writing technical manufacturing documents such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, test plans, process specifications, and test reports. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing and maintaining these documents. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and material & process.

• Develop, write, and maintain detailed Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs) to support manufacturing operations.
• Support creation and review of standard operating procedures as needed to reflect changes in processes and improve production efficiency.
• Author, update, and revise test plans/reports to meet company process specifications and ensure alignment with engineering requirements.

• 3+ years of related experience working as a technical writer, manufacturing engineer, or process engineer.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in relevant field (Engineering, technical Writing, etc.)
• Proven experience in writing technical documents for manufacturing processes, especially MWIs.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency with documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Docs).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.

• Familiarity with quality control and industry standards in manufacturing.
• Experience working in the aerospace, automotive, or medical industry
